Case Study: Dogs About Town

Introduction

Dogs About Town is a UK based company who specialise in helping your dog become healthier and happier, founded in 2010. With a wide selection of premium raw dog food, treats and toys, you’ll find everything you need here to keep your four legged friend happy.

Dogs About Town has an online store which reliably provides full eCommerce store functionality and also includes features such as categorisation of products, sliders, knowledge centre as well as secure unique login for customers and more.

eCommerce Products

A fully functioning eCommerce website can have many moving parts that all need to come together to deliver a smooth experience to visitors. With Siteglide we were able to take full control from end to end and customise the whole delivery, which meant that Dogs About Town could have a store to match their custom requirements and their visitors experience their brand as being smooth and reliable.

Within our eCommerce build, we have used the ‘products’ functionality to create and display products to store visitors. We also added custom fields for different weights and varying information needed for calculating shipping costs, along with a custom implementation of poplet images. The store also makes subscriptions and discount codes available to customers.

Shipping Calculations

Using custom fields added to products, we have implemented a custom solution to calculate the total weight of a cart, which will dynamically assign a Shipping Option to the cart.

By doing this we dramatically minimised admin time for our client while helping to make the checkout process easier and faster for store visitors who are now able to immediately view an accurate cost of shipping their purchases.
